Mr Balogiannis was born in Trikokkia of Grevena where he completed primary education as well es seconday six grade male high school and then moved to Athens to study Law in the University of Athens, while attending journalism courses for three years as well.

There was in Athens – especially Monastiraki- that he comes in contact with his first collector items which were text books that he missed having during childhood.

When asked what led him to create this collection he replies in three words LOVE- DEPRIVATION-CURIOSITY

His love about books that without them nothing can be achieved

Deprivation because he lacked books during school years and curiosity that moved him to learn about education, books and objects used by students in the past.

Apart from Monastiraki and antique shops of Athens he visited almost all antique shops of Greece though he aquired the most important collective books from aunctions in Greece and abroad.

Today he holds a large collection of books, magazines, cards, documents, maps, photographs, school objects, fairy tales and more.

In early 2005 he decides to found the company named Ark of Greek Education in order to creatively use his collection and among other activities in purpose of the company is the foundation of this Museum to host part of the collection and so from November 2016 the Museum of Greek education dedicated to Greek Education is open to public.
